Abstract

Competition in the tourism industry around the world is increasing, and some countries are actively using a visa-free policy to attract more tourists. The main purpose of this article is to empirically clarify and study the visa-free policy in Kyrgyzstan through a survey of workers in the tourism sector. Entrepreneurs, managers, guides, artisans, museum workers, employees of relevant government agencies and scientists specializing in the field of tourism took part in the survey. The questionnaire was filled out by 400 people, and 387 responses were found to be valid. The data collected from the survey was analysed by cross-tab analysis using a special statistical program (SPSS). At the end of the article is a discussion of the results obtained, on the basis of which directions for further research and proposals for improving tourism policy have been developed.
